Two Friends Doll

Two Friends Doll
by Tilda
This doll has wings that you can attach to her back. I decided to make this doll without wings. She is wearing a rose print top with a pink scarf. The skirt and bloomers are made out of white cotton fabric. I fancied up her skirt with pink rick rack. I have a doll pattern for a Jane Austen
dress. I will take a picture of my doll when I have finished the dress.
I found the patterns for this doll in the Sew Sunny Homestyle book by Tilda.

Clothes Hanger Cover

This pattern was found in the Sew Sunny Homestyle book by Tilda. The pattern has scalloped edges at the bottom. I did not cut mine out with scallops. You can add a rose motif and lace to the cover for added beauty.

I found this fabric book cover pattern in the Sew Sunny Homestyle book by Tilda. The cover slips on and will be easy to clean.

Valentine's Day Placemats

Pink Woolen Felt Place mats
These place mats are made out of pink woolen felt. I used cotton candy pink fabric paint to outline the edges of each place mat. My sewing instructor made a heart pattern using a piece of paper. If you would like to make these place mats, go to www.homeliving.blogspot.com.

Sewing Room Organizer

My mother bought two cork boards for organizing papers in our home school room. I wrapped both boards in pink/white gingham fabric. I brought one of the boards into my sewing room and I am using it as an organizer.

Fabric Roses

Fabric roses by Tilda. I made one a little larger than the other and placed them on my sewing room cork board.

Apron

Large Pockets on Apron
Apron

My grandma Sharon purchased an apron at Goodwill. I loved the style of the apron and asked if I could use her apron as a pattern. The front has two large pockets and the back has a Velcro closure at the top. It is very comfortable and my mom uses it to clean house in. I am going to embellish the apron around the neckline and pockets with rick-rack or lace.

Owl Cell Phone Holder

cell phone holder
My mother bought me an American Girl magazine subscription. In each of their magazines, they have a craft section. This felt owl cell holder caught my eye. Michael's Craft Store is now selling American Girl crafts, and for Christmas I received the cell phone holder craft kit. This was a fun and easy craft project.

Stamps

Stamps are fun to collect, and I love to find a good bargain. Most of my stamps have been purchased for $1.00 to $5.00. Jo-Anns's Fabric, Michael's Crafts Store and the Dollar Tree have a great selection of stamps. I watch for their ads, and clip coupons, which saves you money.
They can be used to make birthday cards, invitations, thank you cards, etc.

Tea Cup Table Runner

Tea Cup Table Runner

I bought these fat quarters and a pattern at a quilt shop in Pleasant Hill. While my father was sharpening their shears, I talked to the ladies about sewing and quilting. This will be used on our dining room table. This fabric caught my eye, because I enjoy collecting tea cups and tea pots.

Doll

Tilda Doll

I found a doll pattern in the Sew Pretty Homestyle book. I made the blue felt sweater and button print skirt for her out of scrap fabric. Her hair is made out of black yarn.

Fabric Rose

Roses can be used as an embellishment on purses, hats, and scarves. This pattern was from Sew Pretty Homestyle by Tilda. I purchased the book at Jo-Ann's Fabric.

Homemade Apple Pie

Warm Apple Pie
Pie ready to be baked!

My aunt Renea showed me how to make a pie crust from scratch. Her crusts are always tender and flaky. I learned not to over work the dough when rolling out and other valuable techniques from her. The apple pie was served for dessert after dinner. Yummy!

Cute Summer Top

My mother bought a summer dress pattern for my cousin and was not able to sew the dress this summer. So one day, I decided to work on the dress, and the dress is now a long summer top. The pink polka dot fabric is made of cotton and I used large pink buttons on the straps.

Recipe Card Holder

I have been looking for something to put recipe cards in for awhile. One day, when I was looking on sewmamasew.blogspot.com, I found a pattern for this. I stayed up late making it but it was worth it. Now I have a place to put all my recipe cards.

Purse

Yesterday, I made this purse. It is a clutch/purse. I could never figure out how to use the fat quarter that I purchased at Walmart. When I saw the pattern for a purse on www.sewmamasew.blogspot.com, I was excited and went to work on making one and this is what became of it. It is not exactly how she made her purse, since I used a velcro closure.
